Belly Dance
Kelley
Kelley first began studying the art of belly dance in 2007, drawn in by the beautiful, soulful music. Throughout her time as both a student and professional, it is this music that continues to inspire and move her, pushing her to take in as much as she can of this art form. Kelley specializes in the classical Egyptian style of belly dance, or Raqs Sharki, as well as several traditional, folkloric styles. She is experienced in the use of both long-established and more modern belly dance props, including sword, cane, shamadan, candle tray and Wings of Isis.
Additionally, Kelley is a skilled choreographer, teaching workshops and creating choreographies for soloists and group performers, many of which are in the Albi repertoire. One of her choreographies was awarded first place in the University of Tennessee International Dance Competition of 2012. Kelley is a regular dancer at Cairo Café/Mirage in Knoxville, and was the featured dancer in their recent local commercial.

In addition to her many performances with the members of Albi Belly Dance, she has danced at weddings, birthdays and special events for the Arab American Club of Knoxville. She continues to seek out high quality instruction and has attended workshops and studied with many teachers, including the following:
Karim Nagi
Momo Kadous
Aziza of Canada
Linda of Nashville
Aziza Nawal
Gina of Atlanta
Shahira
Sabylla
Kelley is extremely grateful for the role belly dance has come to play in her life, both professionally and personally, and looks forward to continuing her study and performance of this beautiful art.
